LOS ANGELES, Calif. (October 29, 2025) – Under the lights at BMO Stadium, LAFC took a major step forward in their MLS playoff campaign with a 2–1 victory over Austin FC. The Black and Gold delivered a composed performance in front of a roaring home crowd, with key goals from Hines-Ike and rising talent Nathan Ordaz sealing the win.
LAFC wasted no time setting the tone early, dominating possession and creating chances through their high-pressing attack. Defender Donovan Hines-Ike opened the scoring in the 20th minute, connecting perfectly with a corner kick to give LAFC the early advantage. The goal electrified the stadium and forced Austin into chase mode for the remainder of the first half.
Austin FC, however, showed resilience. They found their breakthrough in the 63rd minute, when Jon Gallagher finished off a quick counterattack to level the match at 1–1. The equalizer briefly silenced the home crowd and added tension to an already fierce postseason clash.
But LAFC wasn’t finished. In the 79th minute, young forward Nathan Ordaz produced the decisive moment. Timing his run to perfection, Ordaz broke through Austin’s back line and calmly slotted the ball past the keeper to restore LAFC’s lead. The goal reignited the crowd and proved to be the match-winner, securing LAFC’s passage to the next round.
With the 2–1 triumph, LAFC continues its quest for another deep playoff run, showing both maturity and attacking depth in a high-stakes matchup.
