Vancouver Whitecaps FC delivered a commanding performance at Snapdragon Stadium Saturday night, defeating San Diego FC 4-2. It was a dominant display, and a reminder to the Western Conference of who is leading the pack.
The Whitecaps took control early, and never looked back. Brian White was the story of the first half, netting a brace before the break to put Vancouver firmly in the driver’s seat. The American striker opened the scoring off a slick combination from Tristan Blackmon and Thomas Muller, then doubled the lead just before halftime with a sharp finish after a clever touch from Jeevan Badwal.
San Diego pulled one back through David Vazquez in the second half, briefly giving the home crowd something to cheer about. But Vancouver answered quickly and substitute Ralph Priso – returning from injury – put the game to rest with a goal in the 75th minute to make it 4-1. San Diego added a late consolation goal, but the result was never really in doubt.
The loss raises questions for San Diego as they head into the MLS summer break still sitting in the bottom half of the Western Conference. For Vancouver, the victory only adds to their credentials as the team to beat in 2026.
