Sweden delivered a statement performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, dismantling Tunisia 5-1 in a one-sided Group H encounter that showcased the attacking firepower of the Scandinavian side. The Swedes dominated from start to finish, scoring four goals in the second half to turn a competitive opening period into a rout.

Played in front of a passionate crowd in Dallas, the match began with Sweden asserting control through slick passing and high pressing. Tunisia, known for their defensive organization, struggled to contain the movement of Sweden’s forward line.

The deadlock was broken in the 28th minute when Alexander Isak latched onto a through ball from midfield dynamo Dejan Kulusevski and calmly slotted the ball past the Tunisian goalkeeper. Sweden continued to press, and just before halftime, Viktor Gyökeres doubled the lead with a powerful strike from the edge of the box, leaving Tunisia shell-shocked heading into the break.

The second half turned into a goal fest. Gyökeres added his second in the 52nd minute with a clinical finish following a swift counter-attack. Tunisia briefly gave their fans hope in the 61st minute when Youssef Msakni pulled one back with a well-taken free-kick, but any momentum was short-lived.

Sweden responded ruthlessly. Substitute Emil Holm scored on his World Cup debut in the 68th minute, and Isak completed his brace in the 77th minute with a composed finish. The fifth and final goal came in stoppage time as Gyökeres sealed his hat-trick, rounding off an outstanding individual and team display.
