LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Angel City FC hosted Houston Dash in a highly anticipated early-season clash, with both sides entering the matchup level on points at the top of the table. With each team winning their opening two matches, the fixture presents an opportunity to establish an early lead in the standings.

The second half began with instant fireworks, as Angel City FC wasted no time finding a breakthrough. In the 47th minute, Sveindís Jónsdóttir produced a moment of brilliance, unleashing a stunning left-footed strike from outside the box that rocketed into the top left corner. An unstoppable effort that brought the crowd to life and leveled the match at 1-1 against the Houston Dash.
Angel City carried that momentum immediately into the next sequence. Just two minutes later, goalkeeper Angelina Anderson initiated a dangerous counterattack with a long ball forward. Jónsdóttir’s initial attempt was denied on the line by Jane Campbell, but Riley Tiernan was there to finish the rebound, completing a rapid turnaround and giving Angel City a 2-1 lead in the 49th minute.
In a matter of moments, the match had completely shifted. With the advantage secured, Angel City returned to their possession-based approach, controlling the tempo and limiting Houston’s attacking opportunities. The hosts managed the remainder of the match effectively, sealing a 2-1 victory and extending their winning streak to three matches, placing them atop the standings with 9 points and a goal differential of 7 with 9 goals scored and only 2 conceded.
