Angel City FC fell 1-2 to Portland Thorns FC at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, in an afternoon game backed by a crowd of 16,636 fans. The home side controlled large stretches of the game, dictating the tempo and pushing forward with intent, but couldn’t turn their momentum into Goals.
The game remained tight until the 76th minute, when P. Tordin broke the deadlock for Portland. As Angel City pushed for an equalizer, the visitors struck again in stoppage time through S. Wilson at 90+5′, putting the game within their grasp.
Angel City responded almost immediately, with P. Chilufya scoring at 90+8 to spark late hope in the stands. However, time ran out on the comeback , leaving the hosts empty-handed despite their strong overall performance, while Portland capitalized on key moments to secure the win.
