Great Britain narrowly missed the first chance to qualify for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, finishing fourth in the men’s team final at the Gymnastics World Championships in Rotterdam on Tuesday.
Only the top three teams in Rotterdam secured early qualification for LA28, and those tickets went to defending champions Japan (251.928), Russia and China. Courtney Tulloch, Joe Fraser, Jake Jarman, Harry Hepworth and Reuben Ward qualified second for the final, led the standings after four of the six rotations, and closed with 247.395.
Japan, Russia and China all improved in the closing stages to push Britain off the podium — the hosts just fell short of staying in the medal places.
Britain’s next chance comes at the 2027 World Championships in Chengdu, China, where a top-nine finish will book the ticket to Los Angeles.
