Orange County SC Go Back To Their Winning Ways In A 2-0 Upset Against San Antonio FC.

IRVINE, Calif.-Lyam MacKinnon and his eagerness took Orange County SC to an upset victory over San Antonio FC at Championship Stadium alongside Bazini and his first goal for the black and Orange.

Orange County got their first shot(on goal) in the eighth minute when Orange County’s Lyam MacKinnon was inside the box and shot towards the net but San Antonio’s keeper Joey Batrouni became a wall and blocked MacKinnon’s shot with ease.

The shot by the Swiss striker was a foreshadowing of what was to come just three minutes after. Marcelo Palomino from deep in the right midfield sent a long pass to Mackinnon and as the crowd rose from their seats in anticipation, Mackinnon swiftly struck the ball with his left foot after controlling the ball with a flying touch and sent the shot into the right sight of the net making it 1-0 in the 11th minute.

Chances kept coming for County in the 24th minute when San Antonio Defender Alex Crognale fouled County’s Chris Hegardt right outside the left corner of the box in San Antonio’s final third, granting County a dangerous freekick but it was later deflected by San Antonio’s defense.

At the 33rd minute of the first half, Chris Hegardt pushed through to the box from the left wing and cut into the center of the box, sending San Antonio defenders the opposite way with his agility and attempted a shot but was deflected by San Anotonio’s Batrouni but the deflection was sent into Bazini’s way and the Israeli striker tapped the final goal of the night into the net making it 2-0.

Mackinnon was hungry for more in the 42nd minute when he pushed for another chance but was quickly slid tackled by Crognale.

Just two minutes into the second half, Bazini tried to keep the spark alive within the match with a shot on goal but was blocked by the American keeper.

Banzini’s close call would be later followed by OCSC’s keeper Alex Rando’s cat-like reflexes in the 73rd minute when San Antonio defender Mitchell Taintor headed a ball from a cross. As Rando deflected that shot, the ball was like a magnet to the goal line so Kevin Partida took charge and cleared the ball from their box. Final Score, 2-0 Orange County.
