The matchup pitted two of MLS’s biggest stars against each other: LAFC’s new signing Son Heung-min versus Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi. While Messi provided flashes of brilliance, LAFC’s organized defense—anchored by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris‘ clean sheet—stifled Miami throughout, limiting them to just three shots on target.
