EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — The South Bay Lakers delivered a strong all-around performance Sunday night, defeating the Memphis Hustle 113–101 at UCLA Health Training Center behind a game-high 27 points from Kobe Bufkin.
Bufkin set the tone early, attacking the lane and knocking down timely jumpers as South Bay built momentum on both ends of the floor. His scoring punch helped the Lakers maintain control throughout the game, particularly during a decisive second-half stretch that pushed the lead into double digits.
South Bay played without starting point guard Bronny James Jr., but the absence didn’t slow the Lakers’ offensive rhythm. The team shared the ball effectively, played with pace, and leaned on disciplined defensive possessions to keep Memphis from mounting a serious comeback.
The Hustle stayed within striking distance early, but South Bay’s consistent execution and defensive pressure limited Memphis’ transition opportunities and forced difficult shots late in possessions. By the fourth quarter, the Lakers had firmly established control and closed the game with composure.
The win continued a strong homestand for South Bay, highlighting the team’s depth and ability to adjust when key contributors are unavailable.
Final Score: South Bay Lakers 113, Memphis Hustle 101
