PASADENA, Calif. (Nov. 8, 2025) — It was a tough night for the UCLA Bruins at the Rose Bowl as they fell 28–21 to the Nebraska Cornhuskers in front of a packed home crowd. Nebraska came out firing on all cylinders, taking full control of the first half and never looking back.
The Cornhuskers dominated the opening two quarters, putting up three unanswered touchdowns behind a balanced offensive attack that kept UCLA’s defense on its heels. Their execution and tempo gave Nebraska a comfortable lead going into halftime, silencing the early energy of the Bruins faithful.
UCLA tried to rally in the second half behind the efforts of quarterback Nico Iamaleava, who gave it everything he had — making plays both through the air and on the ground. Iamaleava led the Bruins on two crucial scoring drives that cut the deficit to one touchdown, but Nebraska’s defense stood tall when it mattered most, closing out the game with key stops in the final minutes.
Statistically, the matchup was close. Nebraska edged UCLA in total yardage, 361 to 348, reflecting just how competitive the second half became. However, the early hole proved too deep for the Bruins to escape, as Nebraska’s first-half dominance ultimately made the difference
Despite the loss, UCLA showed fight and resilience, giving fans hope for what lies ahead in their season. Nebraska, meanwhile, continues to build momentum with another hard-earned win on the road.
