LOS ANGELES — The LA Clippers came up just short on Sunday night at Intuit Dome, falling 120–119 to the Miami Heat in a back-and-forth battle that went down to the wire. Despite impressive offensive performances from Kawhi Leonard and James Harden, the Clippers couldn’t close out the game in the final seconds as Miami’s resilience paid off.
Bam Adebayo Lead The Way for Miami Heat
Bam Adebayo was the difference-maker for the Heat, leading his team with 25 points while controlling the paint on both ends of the floor. In a special moment for Clippers fans, Norman Powell made his return to Intuit Dome — this time in a Heat jersey — and delivered a standout performance with 21 points, helping Miami seal the narrow victory.
The Clippers were led by Kawhi Leonard’s 27 points and James Harden’s 29, as both stars showcased their offensive versatility and leadership. However, turnovers and missed opportunities in the closing minutes proved costly for the home side.
With the loss, the Clippers drop to 3–3 on the young season. They’ll have little time to dwell on the defeat as they prepare for a tough matchup tomorrow night against the defending NBA champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, at Intuit Dome — a chance for redemption and to regain early-season momentum.
