Sunday, September 21, 2025, was a night to remember for Los Angeles FC. At BMO Stadium, the Black & Gold not only defeated Real Salt Lake 4–1 but did so in style — turning the game around after trailing early, with goals, emotion, and a heartfelt tribute to their greatest legend, Carlos Vela.
Real Salt Lake struck first, taking the lead in the opening minutes, but LAFC responded with power and flair. Denis Bouanga stole the show with a hat-trick, while Heung-Min Son added another to seal a stunning comeback.
The evening was even more special thanks to “Noche de Carlos Vela,” a tribute to the club’s former captain and first superstar. Fans received commemorative shirts and LED wristbands, and a pre-match ceremony honored Vela’s lasting legacy with LAFC.
It was a perfect night at BMO: a magical comeback, a Bouanga hat-trick, a Son goal, and a tribute to the eternal captain.
