LOS ANGELES — LAFC returned to MLS action at BMO Stadium with a convincing 3–1 victory over Real Salt Lake on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
The match marked LAFC’s first MLS home game following the 2026 FIFA World Cup break, and the Black and Gold gave their supporters plenty to celebrate with a strong attacking performance in Los Angeles.
Son Heung-min continued his impressive run of form by finding the back of the net for LAFC. The goal was Son’s third over his last two matches, providing another example of the immediate impact he has made within the club’s attack.
LAFC controlled the match and consistently pressured the Real Salt Lake defense, scoring three times to secure all three points. Real Salt Lake managed to pull one goal back, but the visitors were unable to overcome LAFC’s advantage.
The victory gives LAFC positive momentum as the club begins a quick turnaround ahead of another match at BMO Stadium.
LAFC will next face Sporting Kansas City in Los Angeles on Saturday, July 25.
