South Bay Lakers started off strong taking the lead but the Sioux Falls Skyforce were right behind them. As both incredible teams went head to head, UCLA Health Training Center was buzzing today, March 28, 2026. “What could become of this game?” is something that everybody was asking themselves; so LA Momentum took note of every impactful moment for both the Lakers and the Skyforce.
Chris Mañon (#30) was fighting for his team through the entire game, sharing words with the Skyforce bench. The Lakers locked in and remained on top by the end of the first quarter (36-31). Overall, the first quarter was a very promising look for both Skyforce and the Lakers. Jahmir Young (#17) for the Skyforce was showing his ability to stay on top despite being away from home.
Anton Watson (#22) was defending the lead that they had over Skyforce. The game was truly blazing with both teams batting it out not only the 5 v 5 on the court, but the benches getting into it verbally. This resulted in a verbal warning for the Skyforce bench from the referees.
Halfway through the second quarter, the Skyforce were catching up to the Lakers creating a higher competitive tension between the players. Keeping a lead through the entire second quarter, the Lakers ended up on top (71-67) giving fans a performance that could only be described as jaw dropping.
Four minutes into the third, they were going head to head tied though the game. It didn’t take long before the Skyforce was up (82-85). Reaching towards the end of the 3rd quarter the South Bay Lakers and the Skyforce remained back and forth, holding the lead from one another. As always, the Lakers feed off of the loudest crowd in the G League, their supporters at UCLA Health Training Center. The third quarter buzzer echoed through the building as the Lakers remained on top by 3 points (109-106).
The room bursted into cheers as the South Bay Lakers received a foul as they were tied on the board 116-116. This proves that any point was vital to the team that would inevitably take the win for tonight’s game.
Vladislav Goldin(#50) vs Dalton Knecht (#4) blocked a dunk that everybody felt was secured. Bronny was on fire all through the fourth quarter with 3 pointer after 3 pointer leaving the fans and his teammates off their seats and losing their voices from excitement. This time around, the Skyforce found it much more difficult to catch up to the Lakers as the Lakers held it down by almost 7 points the entire night.
This did not stop the Skyforce because with 59.5 seconds left on the clock, South Bay called a timeout to talk game strategy as the Skyforce trailed right behind the Lakers by 4 points. The tension was high, fans were in shock and no longer on their feet. Lakers secured 2 points off a foul and Skyforce were forced to call their timeout to; just like the Lakers did, talk game strategy with the Skyforce now trailing behind by 6 points (136-130).
The Lakers ended the game, winning it by 8 points (140-132). Fans poured out of the venue with smiles all over the faces. The Lakers secure the NO.1 seed in the West before heading for playoffs.
