Harry Kane is the winner of the 2026 Ballon d’Or. The Bayern Munich striker and England captain received the award this Monday, October 26, at the London Palladium, in the 70th edition of the prize France Football hands to the best player in the world.
Kane beat Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid) and Lamine Yamal (Barcelona) in the voting, finishing second and third respectively. He is the first Englishman to win the award since Michael Owen in 2001 and only the fifth Englishman in the history of the prize.

The numbers that took him to the top: 73 goals in 65 matches for club and country in the period under consideration, from August 3, 2025 to July 19, 2026. With Bayern he won the Bundesliga and the German Cup, scoring 36 league goals — his third consecutive Bundesliga Golden Boot — and 14 goals in the Champions League.
With England, Kane scored 6 goals at the 2026 World Cup and led the Three Lions to third place. In his speech, emotional in front of his home crowd in London, he said winning in his city “has made it extra special” and thanked everyone who voted for him.
